Notice for Online Chinese Visa Application and Appointment System

In order to improve the Chinese visa application services, the Chinese Embassy in Ireland will start to use the online application form submission and appointment system from 10 April 2019.

1. All applicants (excluding Hong Kong and Macao visa applicants) will be required to visit https://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn (China Online Visa Application, COVA) to fill in the application form online, which should be printed out together with the confirmation page.

2. Visit https://avas.cs.mfa.gov.cn (Appointment for Visa Application Submission, AVAS) to choose a time slot and print out the appointment confirmation page.

3. Submit the signed application form, confirmation page, appointment confirmation page and other required documents (please see How to make a visa application) at the Consular Section of the Embassy (118 Merrion Road, Dublin 4, please do not post) according to the time slot.

4. From 10 April to 9 May 2019, applicants can continue to use the existing physical paper application form (no appointment is needed in this case). Starting from 10 May 2019, all applications must be submitted through the online application and appointment system and the Embassy will cease to accept application without online appointment.
