Q: On 9 Feb, Seanad Éireann passed a non-binding Xinjiang-related motion, which says that Seanad Éireann notes the publication of the judgement of the Uyghur Tribunal on 9th December 2021 and accepts its findings. What is the Chinese Embassy's comment?
A: Based on lies and disinformation, a few politicians in the Seanad Éireann blatantly interfere in China's internal affairs and damage the China-Ireland relations. We express our firm opposition to it.
The so-called “Uyghur Tribunal”, sponsored by the terrorist and separatist organization “World Uyghur Congress” and formed by a handful of anti-China separatists, is nothing but a political tool which attempts to disrupt Xinjiang and smear China. This so-called “tribunal” is completely void of any legal basis and has no credibility at all. The “tribunal” and its so-called “conclusions” are mere clumsy shows staged by anti-China elements for their self-entertainment. Anyone with conscience and reason will not be deceived by this “political lynching”.
We urge those Irish politicians to respect truth and facts, and stop the erroneous practices.
