Ambassador He Xiangdong Met with Minister Charlie McConalogue

On April 18, Ambassador He Xiangdong met with Mr. Charlie McConalogue, Minister for Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine.

Ambassador He said that China is the largest export market for Irish pork and infant formula milk, and also the fastest growing export market for Irish agricultural products. China is willing to work with Ireland to deepen bilateral agricultural cooperation and to strengthen multilateral agricultural cooperation with Ireland, to jointly promote global food security and international cooperation in agriculture.

MinisterMcConaloguesaid that China is one of the most important markets for Irish agricultural products. The first batch of beef after the resumption of Irish beef exports to China has just arrived at Shanghai Port, which marks the exciting new progress in the agricultural trade cooperation between the two countries. Ireland hopes to strengthen communication and exchanges with the Chinese side to promote greater development of bilateral and multilateral agricultural cooperation.
