On August 13, Ambassador He Xiangdong attended the closing ceremony of the Fourth World Xiangqi Open and had a warm exchange with the participating players.
Ambassador He expressed heartfelt congratulations to the winners and acknowledged the contributions of all participants. Ambassador He remarked, “Xiangqi is a Chinese game with a long history. This event not only provides a stage for the players to compare Xiangqi skills, but also builds a bridge for communication and understanding between different cultures. We look forward to the continued vigorous development of the World Xiangqi Open in the future, and to promoting Xiangqi, as a combination of culture and intellectual sports, to more countries.”
The Fourth World Xiangqi Open tournament was held at the Confucius Institute of University College Dublin from August 10 to 13, with more than 60 contestants from China, Germany, France and other countries participating.
