Notice on Temporary Adjustments of Visa Application and Documents Legalization/Authentication Procedures

Due to system maintenance, the Chinese Embassy temporarily adjusts the following procedures regarding visa applications and document legalization/authentication from September 22 till October 31.

1. Visa 

All visa applications will be processed by appointments and posts. The procedures are as follows:

1.1 Make an appointment through the Appointment for Visa Application Submission (AVAS) system(http://avas.mfa.gov.cn);

1.2 Fill in the Visa Application Form online through the China Online Visa Application (COVA) system(http://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn), print out the form including the confirmation page, and sign on the form and on the confirmation page;

1.3 Send the pictures of your signed Visa Application Form, signed Confirmation Page, your passport information page and other supporting materials(please refer to "How to make a visa application", http://ie.china-embassy.gov.cn/eng/qzfw/201707/t20170707_2238837.htm) that are needed for the type of visa you apply for to chinaemb_ie@mfa.gov.cn, and wait for the confirmation email that will be sent to you within two working days;

1.4 Send the printed and signed Application Form, signed Confirmation Page, your original passport and a photocopy of the passport information page, two photos, other supporting materials, a registered post stamp/label for us to send back all your documents, as well as the payment(postal order or bank draft) to our Visa Office (118 Merrion Road, Dublin 4).

We will process your application on a timely manner and you can expect to get back your visa and passport within 5 working days after we receive all your documents.

2. Legalization

All applications will be processed by email appointments and posts. Please fill in the Application Form of Consular Legalization (Download from http://ie.china-embassy.gov.cn/eng/lsfw/201707/t20170707_2238764.htm) and send us the electronic version or a picture of this form to chinese118emb@gmail.com.

You will get an email back within two working days as confirmation. You shall then send us your printed and signed Application Form of Consular Legalization, the original and a photocopy of the documents to be certified, a photocopy of your(and your client’s, if any) passport information page, a registered post stamp/label for us to send back all your documents, as well as your payment(postal order or bank draft) to our Visa Office (118 Merrion Road, Dublin 4).  

We will process your application on a timely manner and you can expect to get back your certified documents within 5 working days after we receive all your documents.

3. Authentication

Chinese nationals who apply for documents authentication need to make appointments via email: chinese118emb@gmail.com. Please come to the Consular Section (118 Merrion Road, Dublin 4) according to the time and requirements in the email we send you back.
