Starting from April 29, international airline passengers entering China can replace their 48-hour nucleic acid COVID-19 test(PCR test) with an antigen rapid test(ART test).

Airline companies will no longer check the negative PCR or ART test results before boarding. To ensure you a smooth travel to China, Chinese Embassy in Ireland has updated the "Guide on Epidemic Prevention and Control Measures for China-bound Travelers" and requirements. In order to avoid any travel delays, we recommend that all travelers read carefully and follow the instructions on the guidance.

Guide on Epidemic Prevention and Control Measures For China-bound Travelers:

I. Pre-departure test:Antigen rapid test (ART) or COVID-19 PCR test result within 48 hours before boarding is required. Passengers are required to travel to China with a negative test result. You can only travel to China when your test result is negative or after it turns from positive to negative.

II. Health Declaration to China Customs: You are required to declare your negative test result to China Customs by filling the Health Declaration Form on the Wechat mini-program of China Customs (scan the QR code below), or at https://htdecl.chinaport.gov.cn, or via the China Customs APP.

III. Airline companies will no longer check the negative ART or PCR test results.

IV. Please abide by the epidemic prevention and control requirements of the airline you take and take good personal protection to reduce the risk of infection. 

V. Inspection upon Entry: Upon arrival at the port, complete the necessary customs clearance procedures with the Customs health declaration code. Those whose results are negative will go through routine inspection by China Customs in accordance with the Frontier Health and Quarantine Law and other laws and regulations. The Customs will conduct sampling inspection according to a certain proportion. Those with abnormal health declaration with fever or other symptoms shall cooperate with the Customs in carrying out epidemiological and medical investigation, and accept sampling and testing of related infectious diseases.

VI. After-entry Epidemic Prevention and Control: After entry into China, you should strictly abide by the epidemic prevention and control requirements of the place where you stay.
