On 18th March, Mr. Wang Yi, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister, sent a message to Tánaiste and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Simon Coveney. Wang expressed his condolences for those Irish people who lost their lives in the outbreak of COVID-19 and sympathy to their families, and wish other patients an early recovery.

Wang said China received precious support and assistance from the international community in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Irish side by sharing information and experience, enhancing cooperation in the treatment and prevention of the pandemic to control the disease and make contributions to global public health.
