At the invitation of the Irish Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, a delegation of the Communist Party of China (CPC) visited Ireland from Saturday to Monday.
During the visit, the Chinese delegation, led by Luo Dongchuan, deputy secretary of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, held meetings with former Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern and officials from the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs.
They also visited County Kildare and talked with local officials.
Highlighting the sound momentum for bilateral cooperation, the two sides voiced willingness to strengthen cooperation in agriculture, culture, tourism, education and the local areas, jointly cope with global challenges such as climate change so as to push for the sound and steady development of China-Ireland and China-Europe relations.
