On August 20th, Ambassador Yue Xiaoyong met with guests from the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification of China, Ireland and Chinese Society of Ireland in his residence in Dublin.

Ambassador Yue highly appreciated for the constructive role the Overseas Chinese Societies in Ireland have been playing to promote the solidarity, prosperity and development of the Chinese community in the country, as well as for their support to the development of China, peaceful reunification of China and "One China" policy. Ambassador noted that the Chinese government and the Embassy will spare no efforts supporting the Chinese community's contributions to the friendship and cooperation between China and Ireland. He also encouraged them to better integrate, while making contributions, to the Irish society, and expressed his best wishes for further development of their endeavors.

Members from the two Societies said they would continue to promote friendship and cooperation between China and Ireland as well as contribute to the peaceful reunification of China.

Chief of Political & Press Section Mr. Shen Mingchun and Consul Ms. Shang Chengcheng also attended the meeting.
