Chinese Health Minister visits Ireland

At the invitation of Irish Minister for Health Dr. James Reilly, Madame Li Bin, Minister of National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) of the People's Republic of China visited Ireland from May 23rd to 25th.
During her visit, Minister LI Bin held bilateral talks with her counterpart at Leinster House, exchanging information and views on a variety of health issues and briefing each other on the challenges facing the health systems of China and Ireland in their respective reform efforts. Minister Reilly and Madam Li shared a view that a healthy population is the most precious resource for a country and it should be a common goal for every government to improve their peoples' health. Both Ministers agreed to strengthen cooperation and collaboration in training General Practitioners, delivering high-quality healthcare service, and refining health administration, under the framework of the MOU signed last year between the Chinese Health Ministry and Irish Health Department.
Madame Li and her delegation also visited a Primary Care Centre at Thomas Court, Dublin 8 and St. Vincent's University Hospital at Ballsbridge, Dublin 2.
Chinese Ambassador to Ireland H.E. Luo Linquan attended some of the above events.
