On the afternoon of Nov.20, 2001, 35
foreign nationals created disturbances in Tiananmen
Square by their illegal unfurling banners bearing slogans of
Falun Gong, an evil cult banned by the Chinese government.
The local police took them away as their activities had
violated Chinese laws governing parades, demonstrations and
relevant regulations on the banning of cults. All of the 35
foreign nationals were given humanitarian treatment and
ordered to leave China within a set time.
Foreigners should abide by
Chinese laws while in China. Any illegal acts are subject to
due punishment in accordance with law. Some Canadian Falun
Gong practitioners as Zenon Dolnyckj had violated Chinese
laws when they were in China. Instead of showing repentance
for their wrong-doings, they are repeatedly defaming and
attacking the Chinese government by making fabricated
stories. We express our utmost indignation towards those
slanderous and irresponsible remarks.
As is known to all, Falun
Gong is an evil cult outlawed by the Chinese government
according to the law. More than 1,700 people have died and
many families have broken up as the result of practicing
Falun Gong. In order to protect the fundamental human rights
of all citizens, the Chinese government took resolute
actions to ban this cult organization two years ago. Since
then, Falun Gong has been repudiated by more and more
people. Having lost moral ground and the support of the
general public, Falun Gong now resorts to making
disturbances and relying on the so-called
international support in order to save its
doomed destiny. As always, evil schemes will come to no good end.
