On June 5, Ambassador Zhao Xiyuan had a productive exchange with Mr. Danny McCoy, CEO of the Irish Business and Employers Confederation. Lan Ning, Head of Huawei Ireland, along with other guests, was also in attendance.

The parties exchanged views extensively on advancing pragmatic cooperation between China and Ireland, as well as between China and Europe, under current global dynamics. They agreed that against the backdrop of compounding economic headwinds and the rise of unilateralism and protectionism, China and Europe, as two major forces, markets, and civilizations sharing broad consensus and deeply intertwined industrial and supply chains, should avoid amplifying differences, pursuing “de-risking”, or engaging in confrontation. Instead, both sides should work in close coordination to properly address frictions and differences through enhanced dialogue and cooperation, thereby injecting greater stability and certainty into economic and trade relations between China and Europe and fostering a supportive environment for corporate investment.
