On October 7, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Ireland and the Irish Fujian Association jointly hosted a consular protection publicity event. Ms. Zhao Yingguang, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy, attended the event. The event brought together nearly 40 participants, including officials of the Embassy's Consular Section, chairperson and core members of the Association, and other overseas Chinese entrepreneurs.

Minister Counsellor Zhao spoke highly of the positive roles played by the Association and other overseas Chinese community organisations in Ireland. They unit overseas Chinese, promote Chinese culture, and support the Embassy in consular protection. She expressed the hope that overseas Chinese and their enterprises would continue to strengthen the awareness of safety, enhance risk prevention awareness, stay compliant in business operations, and take the initiative to study and learn local laws and regulations. She also looked forward to the Association and other overseas Chinese organisations in Ireland continuing to serve as a bridge and bond, and contributing to China–Ireland friendly exchanges.

Focused on consular protection and assistance, as well as corporate compliance, the event featured consular officers of the Embassy explaining consular protection knowledge with case studies, and local Irish experts delivering special seminars on the labour law and the national budget. The event was well received by the participants for its practical topics that closely match the work of overseas Chinese and the actual needs of their business operations.
