On March 26, Ambassador Zhao Xiyuan attended China Market Update held by Ireland China Business Association and delivered an address. Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, IDA, EI and some Chinese and Irish companies participated in the event. Ambassador of Ireland to China, Dr. Nicholas O'Brien, delivered a video address.

In his address, Ambassador Zhao stated that protectionism and "anti-globalization" are currently intensifying internationally. China firmly supports economic globalization, adheres to promoting reform and development through openness, and shares opportunities and achieves common development with all countries. The 15th Five-Year Plan brings more development opportunities to countries worldwide, including Ireland. He hopes that Chinese and Irish companies will strengthen cooperation and further deepen China-Ireland economic and trade cooperation.
