On December 14, 2019, Premier Li Keqiang sent a congratulatory message to Boris Johnson on his re-election as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK).
In his message, Li Keqiang expressed, China-UK relations have generally maintained development momentum in recent years, and bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields enjoy huge potential. China and the UK are both permanent members of the United Nations Security Council and major world economies, and our relationship bears global significance. It is hoped that the two sides will, on the basis of mutual respect, consolidate political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation, and push for sustained and sound development of China-UK relations, so as to make greater contributions to safeguarding world peace and stability, as well as to promoting in-depth development of multilateralism and an open world economy.
